Stayed here for one night for business at Purdue University. Arrived in the evening (after a long flight and drive to Purdue) and was disappointed that room service was not offered at night. Too tired to drive around and find something to eat (and the restaurants attached to hotel were closed), I went to bed hungry! Room was on the small size, but adequate. One downside: I was put on the first floor, and students constantly were walking outside of my bedroom...till late hours of the night. Just an FYI if you're a traveler and prefer not to look out your window on to street level!!

Location of the hotel is convenient. The room size is pretty decent also. The hotel is like any hotel. Nothing special about it and nothing too bad about it either.

You're paying for the convenience factor with this hotel, not for the rooms. Some of the rooms have been renovated, but they are still really small and old feeling. Really my only complaint is about the coffee makers. They were extremely old and disgusting. When was the last time your cleaning service ran some vinegar through those?! My coffee maker had not been cleaned when I arrived. Ground coffee and filter were still in it. Pros -close to campus -fairly inexpensive Cons -rooms next to the parking lot can hear all traffic and street noise -coffee makers are gross

Very convenient location. This place reminds me of more of a bed and breakfast vibe. The room we had didn't have a microwave or a refrigerator. One plus, we decided to check out early and they front desk was kind enough to not charge us for the 3rd day.

Great location, friendly staff, free parking, and decent price for the wedding block deal that we had. It was a great deal for the wedding we were attending though, especially because the reception was in the union itself. The rooms are small and the bed options are weird (two twin beds? one twin bed and a double bed?). It's also a hike from the front desk to the elevators. Otherwise, there's not a lot to share about this place. It's a decent hotel whose location makes it 4 stars.

Staying at the Union Club Hotel at Purdue University was such an interesting experience. I honestly don't know how to rate it. From the perspective of an actual random hotel, I'd say its 2 stars. It's extremely out dated, the rooms are small, and there's very little in the way of modern professional convenience. HOWEVER, the rooms are built in the style of the old dorms! As someone that went to Purdue and lived at Cary Quad before it was renovated, staying at the Union Club Hotel made me feel like I was in college again! It was a bizarre feeling staying in a place that made me feel like a freshman again. In addition to that, the location is unbeatable. While I was there, we had very early breakfast meetings in the Student Union, and meetings every hour in various campus locations. Staying at the Union made the day a lot easier. The location alone is worth it. For my money and convenience, I'll be staying at the Union Club Hotel again when I travel to Purdue. I also get the added bonus of nostalgia in the rooms. If you're looking for something fancy, this isn't it. If you're a former student, I think you'll appreciate it. Pro Tip: If can prove that you're affiliated with Purdue or are still in the system from being a former student, you can work out at the RSC (Student gym) for $7 a night. The new gym is amazing. Yay for my 100th Yelp review!!!!

The rooms are small and depressing. The heating is noisy and difficult to set right. The wifi service is free but almost unusable. But it is on campus.

The hotel is in a very convenient spot on campus, great for any prospective students or parents because most of the tours start either in or very close to the hotel. It was clean and the staff was friendly. It's also connected to a big variety of restaurants. The only problem is that we drew the short stick and got stuck at the end of the hall with tons of turns and it felt like we we in a maze. But it was a pleasant experience.

My review is for the amazing front desk staff and cleaning crew. I flew in from out of town for a wedding and accidentally left my new wallet in the room. The cleaning crew secured the wallet to an overnight location until they were able to contact me directly. The front desk sent the wallet, free of charge, to my home address in NY, arriving within two days. Thank you so so much!!

My first time visiting the Purdue campus, and the Union Club Hotel was a great choice for accommodations. My room was teeny-tiny, but I just needed a comfy bed and a shower for the morning. It was clean and comfortable enough. I will say that the front desk staff really went out of their way to help me out as a nursing mom away from my kiddo- in a way they totally didn't have to, and I appreciated it so much.

Clean. Like staying in a church. Basic cable. On campus and truly boring. No on demand or movies. No room service. No lounge. Thin walls. I had to hear a discussion between husband and wife regrading her need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night for the last ten years- and how did he not know that?.... It's goes on! Lol hotels.

So i stayed here for one week exactly to help move one of my family members into the dorm and it's thy perfect place to stay. It's right on campus and got a lot of walking places all along the campus area. However, we ran into a trouble with one of the maids who was cleaning our rooms. As we left the room and we came back to the room with nothing made the bed wasn't made, the floor wasn't vaccumed , they didn't put another toilet paper only they did was change the towels. HOWEVER there is one maid name Lori who truly is a amazing person and she does everything above and beyond . Over all this hotel may look old and it is but it's a really nice and comfortable hotel to stay in. Very much recommend to everyone

I'm going to keep this short and sweet. After all, it's a hotel. We all just want to know the good and the not so good, probably not all the intricate details. So here goes. Here's the good and the not so good... Good: + Phenomenal location - right downtown and within walking distance to just about everything + Great vintage/antique feel + Reasonable prices + Clean rooms and bathrooms + Good customer service Not so good: - Tiny rooms. Very tiny rooms. (In the North Wing) - Rooms are widely spread out, so our hike to the front of the lobby was quite long - Beds weren't the most comfortable - and we had two doubles which was a little tight for a couple who enjoy sleeping in the same bed together. - Thin walls. The location makes up for the downfalls. It's a great place to stay for a few days, but I would recommend upgrading to one of the larger rooms.

This was a great experience. We attended an academic conference on campus, and the hotel is just too convenient. The room was great. Parking is free. The Union Club has plenty of places to eat--but beware, many are closed on weekends and after hours. The room is a little smaller than suburban hotels, more like a city hotel, but it was very nice. The hotel layout is a little odd, but that's a small matter. Don't expect the college kids at the front desk to be overly helpful. This would be a good choice for any business in Lafayette, whether on campus or not.

This was not here when I was here. Happy that they added onto "The Union". Price is right at $99 a night. Rooms are clean. USA Today at your door every morning (excepting weekends of course). Free parking across the street......with the pass that they provide you. Check out the food court in the Union next door. Harry is only a 2 minute crawl away!!

Stayed here for a Wisconsin Badgers at Purdue football game and had a fine experience. Booked the room a week before the game which I wasn't expecting to be able to do. Website said it was sold out, but calling them revealed available rooms. LOCATION COULD NOT BE BEAT if you are looking to be near campus. Walking distance to everything. Price was $149 a night for a room with a double and a twin bed that slept 3. Not sure if this was because it was a football weekend or not. FREE PARKING right across the street. Room and rest of the hotel appeared to be brand new it was so clean. Respectably designed and operated. I definitely plan on staying here in two years when Bucky takes on Boiler Pete. Free apples upon checkout (how you like 'dem apples?!?) (sorry).

Definitley not your Embassy Suites, but really a good hotel. The rooms are a little boring, you thing they would show some more Purdue pride in them, since after all the hotel is located on campus in the Student Union... but it's pretty typical. Beds, dressers, bathroom, some rooms may have a mini fridge, but mine never did. I don't think they even have a swimming pool, which is weird for a hotel, but then again you're on campus and most people staying here are here for school business or future students checking out the place. No free breakfast, but if you are traveling here during one of the student tour events throughout the year, you will get a complimentary breakfast at the classy Sagamore Restaurant upstairs in the Union Club. Otherwise there's plenty of fast food-ish places to eat in The Student Union (a cereal bar, smoothie place, pizza, chinese...). I loved The Union Club because it made my family feel like they were apart of campus and living like a college student. My mother used to embarrass me and drool at the ''college boys'' that would pass by the window outside. Free internet in the rooms, but it's not connected to the wireless internet on campus, you have to use an e-thernet cord that they provide. Beds are a bit hard, but it's all about the thrill of being at Purdue!! I saw them put in new beds in the spring of 2007. There's also a small gym on the first floor. But if you're really bored you can go down to the basement in the Student Union and play a game of bowling at the Rack-N-Roll lanes.

Not the best hotel that i have stayed at... the gym is pretty small with ond stuff and the beds are rock hard with bad pillows... what it lacks in confort it makes up for in location... it is connected to the student union and there is access to the tunnel system from it... so if you have to be in at Purdue i would stay there since it is so close... but dont expect the best night of sleep... also some of my coworkers commented on the thin walls...
